Lucky Number 13

It’s that time already. I really can’t believe another year has come and gone. I think the older I get the fast time moves along, which is quite scary.

2013. I’m not sure what it will bring yet but I have a good feeling since 13 is my lucky number.

Recently I have been going through quite a few changes and life has been a bit out of control (hence the lack of blogging).

Work has been crazy. My boss left for maternity leave. Work also went through a re-structure and we are currently in the middle of a transition period (which has left me doing the work of 2 people).

I am now a single lady. My boyfriend of 2.5 years and I decided to call it quits late last year. It was a really hard decision that we both made, and long term it’s for the best.

But not all is bad.

I joined an amazing gym called Elixr and started seeing a Nutritionist to really just take my health and fitness to the next level and I’m already seeing some massive changes in myself after a few short months.

I have finally found my passion in life and I’m going back to study this year. I’m study Nutritional Medicine. I’m so excited and really pumped to study and learn more about something that I’m really passionate about. I’m also doing it all online, so I will be working full time! It’s going to be challenging but it’s something that I really want so I’m willing to put in the work.

In terms of what 2013 has in store for me? Well I’m not really sure, and I kind of like that. I haven’t made any big new year’s resolutions. I just want this year to be happier and healthier then the last :)

I do have a few small goals. One is I would like to fully be able to do the splits. I’m close but not close enough. I really want to get back to blogging. I have been really slack in the past few months and I actually really miss it, so I promise more regular posts will be updated. And finally I really want to increase my health and fitness. I’ve already made good process, but I would love to take it one step further.

Lets hope I'm doing this before the end of the year!

I hope you all had a great Holiday Season and 2013 is treating you well!

Urban Remedy - Juice Cleanse Day 3

Last day of my juice cleanse! I have to say I was feeling pretty fabulous. I had heaps of energy, felt clean and light and was really alert. But it wasn't an easy take to get through the day.

Around lunchtime a few of the girls in the office went to get some salad. Man they looked amazing. I really wanted to have one! But instead I had my lovely repairing soup. It kept hungry at bay, but I still wanted a salad.

I managed to get through the whole day not cheating. It wasn't easy though. I'm really proud of myself for making it through not only did it really push my will power but I also feel amazing from it.

Overall this has been an amazing body experience. I feel fantastic! Plus I lost about 1.5kg, which is quite a lot for me and I wasn't expecting it either.

I didn't have too many detox symptoms. I did get a little bit nauseous a few times during the 3 days and had a little bit of a headache come and go, but not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I have to say I was worried about running to the bathroom all the time, but that didn't happen at all.

I think I'm going to start making my own fresh juices/smoothies to take to work during the week to keep up what I started with the UR cleanse, so watch this space for an up-coming post on post-juice cleanse Nat!

I'm definitely going to be doing another cleanse. I would love to try a 5 day one. Now that would be a challenge!

If you want to do an Urban Remedy cleanse (you might not want to but your body sure does!) pop over to their website and check it out.

Urban Remedy - Juice Cleanse Day 2

Juice Cleanse Day 2. I'm not going to lie today was harder. Although I wasn't really hungry or tired I missed eating. But I didn't cheat! I figured anything in life that you need to work at has a better payout.

I have found my energy levels have been really good. I haven't been tired at all, which is fab and was one of the benefits I was really looking forward to.

I pretty much kept the timings the same as today only I swapped Juice 3 for Juice 5 because I really liked number 5 and felt like having it earlier in the day.

There was a point during the day when I saw everyone eating little snacks that I did feel very tempted but I managed to resist. Plus I had juice number 6 to look forward to! Yum Yum!

But I made it through the day feeling clean and energized! Bring on day 3.

Urban Remedy - Juice Cleanse Day 1

Juice Cleanse Day 1. I was so excited when my Urban Remedy Juices showed up Sunday night, it was like Christmas. I wasn't really nervous about the cleanse or worried about how I wouldn't go not eating. I guess the payout of feeling amazing was enough incentive for me.

I started my day with hot water and lemon as recommend (I do this every morning anyway) and had my 1st juice at 9am when I got to work.

Can I say YUM! I loved this juice! it was really tasty and also really filling.

I had the 2nd juice at 11:30 am

This one was really refreshing. I'm a huge lemon fan so I really liked it. It helped settle my stomach from the very filling 1st juice.

I had the 3rd juice at 1:30pm.

I have to say I wasn't a major fan of this one, which is weird because I like everything that's in it. So I only had about half of it.

I had the 4th juice at 3pm.

This one I really liked as well. It was really refreshing.

I had the 5th juice at 5pm.

It was really nice a good veggie infusion. I only had half though because I wanted to have some on number 6 to give myself a bit of an energy kick before pole.

And last but not least I had some of the 6th juice at 5:45pm
.

OMG! This was the most amazing juice ever! It had a lovely flavor and really is a great way to end the day.

Not once during the day have I felt hungry which is amazing. I thought I would having lots of herbal tea to keep hunger at bay, but that wasn't the case. I also feel pretty good! I have quite a lot of energy and haven't really had any "detox" symptoms.
I'm looking forward to see how I feel tomorrow.

I'm doing a juice cleanse...

So back in January I decided that this year would be the year I reached ultimate health. I got off to a really good start. I was eating really well, starting to get really fit and just generally looking and feeling great. Then I got unhappy at work, quite my job, got sick and a whole bunch of other things that didn't help. Now I'm healthy, have an amazing new job and am feeling much better. But my eating and fitness hasn't been the best so I've decided to give myself a bit of a kick up the butt and do an juice cleanse.

I've really wanted to try an Urban Remedy juice cleanse for about 2 year now so when I got a voucher for my birthday I thought it would be the perfect oppertunity.

On Sunday I will be getting my 3 day level 3 cleanse. YAY! My selection of juices will be:

1) Healing Smoothie 2)Metabolism Booster 3) Repairing Soup 4) Green Apple Alkaliser 5) Purifying Soup 6) Calming Smoothie

I chose level 3 because it had the least amount of sugar and calories and thought it would be perfect because I've but tried to cut most sugar out of my diet over the past few months.

Everyone thinks I'm a little bit insane because I'm so pumped to do this cleanse but really I'm just looking forward to feeling amazing and getting back on track to achieve my ultimate health goal!

Wish me luck and I'll be keeping you all posted on how it goes.

Health Update: Bikram Yoga

So as part of my uber crazy 2012 Ultimate Health Goal I decided that it might be a good idea to try out Bikram Yoga. I’ve heard heaps about it before and everyone that I know who has done it says it’s amazing.

Bikram Yoga is a style of Yoga that runs for 90 mintues and consists of a series of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercise. Doesn’t seem so bad until the 40.6-degree room that it’s done in is mentioned. I’m not a huge lover of the heat so I knew this would be a challenge.

I started last Thursday at the Bikram Yoga College of India in Darlinghurst with a few girls from work. They have a special for newcomers which is a $17 10 day trial. It’s a pretty amazing price since a casual class is $18. I also really liked the centre because it was chilled out and wasn’t full of crazy skinny/fit intense yoga fanatics.

At first when I walked into the room the heat didn’t seem so bad. That all went to hell once we started. It’s a pretty damn intense yoga session! About 15 minutes in I could feel water running down my back and by the end of the session I was soaking. I gave up trying to wipe my face because 5 minutes later it was back.

That's pretty much what you look like after about 5 mins...

But by god did I feel amazing! I was happy that I was able to finish the entire session. Some of the moves were the same as Ashtanga Ygoa which I’ve done before so I had an idea on my to do them.

After I finished I don’t think I’ve ever felt so amazing. I felt energetic, clean and detoxified. The next day at work everyone said that my skin looked glowing and I looked really fresh.

I loved it so much I went back on Friday as well, and then on Sunday and again tonight!

So if your looking for something to get you fit this year I highly recommend Bikram Yoga! It’s not for the faint hearted but it’s so worth it.
