Colour Me Happy!

I’m not afraid of colour. Anyone that knows me knows that I don’t mind rocking a bright shirt or some pattern clashing jacket and jeans. And don’t even get me started on my shoe and handbag collection. But one place I don’t generally add heaps of colour is in my make-up.

When it comes to cheek colour I generally keep it fairly “natural” looking, most of the time I don’t rock a lip colour and if I do it’s generally red or pink and most of my eye shadows are naturals/ earth tones whether it be matte, metallic or dark.

However I do inject some colour in with eyeliners. I find eyeliners are such a great way to jazz up (yep I just said jazz up) a make-up look. I also like that you can get really playful colours and because you only apply them on a small portion of your face they aren’t too over powering.

So my collection consists of…

Mirenesse’s Tight Liner in Sapphire Blue.

Illamasqua’s Fine Pencil in Classic and Uncanny. Illamasqua’s Precision Ink in Alchemy.

Nutrimetics’ ShimmerEyes in Neon andTwilight.

Nars’ Larger Than Life in Bourbon Street.

MAC’s Eye Kohl in Phone Number. MAC’s Tchnakohl Liner in Purple Dash.

Stila’s Smudge Stick in Lionfish.

My favorites are Stila’s Smudge Stick and Nars’ Larger Than Life. They not only have great colours but they also apply really well and last a really long time (I’m talking these babies are still on after a Bikram session). I’m going to Europe later this year so I will defiantly be getting these in a few more colours!

Glossy Box November 2011

This month Glossy Box launched here in Australia. There was a bit of confusion around this because Beauty Box became Glossy Box, or Beauty Box was just here until Glossy Box launched or something like that. Anyway Glossy Box basically took over from Beauty Box.

If you read my blog you will know that I wasn’t the biggest fan of Beauty Box, so I was a bit skeptical about Glossy Box and very interested to see what their 1st box would be like. And I’m pleased to say the really kicked Beauty Box’s ass…lets just say box!

Not only did the box look lovely, but I was also impressed with the products inside.

Jurlique’s Purely Age-Defying Ultra Firm & Life Cream

Bio Oil’s, well Bio Oil

Essie’s Summer Nail Colour (I got Braziliant)

Bobbi Brown’s Cleansing Oil

Mirenesse’s 3D Forever Gloss (I got Hot Kiss)

JELLYBEANS! This really was the highlight! I LOVE Jellybeans!

I would have to say as far as 1st boxes go this one was pretty damn good. Very happy indeed and much better then Beauty Box was.

Brand in the spotlight: Mirenesse

I first discovered Mirenesse a few months ago when I got a lip colour in the very first Lust Have It Pack and I discovered even more about it during the ABBW. I told you I would be banging on about the ABBW for a while!

We received a full size mascara in our ABBW Lust Have It Luxury Lust Packs and also got this beauty box of goodies from Mirenesse in one of our amazing goodie bags.

I think this was one of the highlights in the goodie bags because a) the packaging looked amazingly cute and b) the products looked really good. The box was full of Mirenesse’s new range Boutique M. And the products got were a) Rich Girl – Pearl Crush Trio Eyeshadow b) Closer – Tight Liner c) The Buzz – Vibralash 24hr Mascara d) The One – Viva Eternal Gloss e) The Fairest – Invisible Fill Make-up.

Rich Girl – Pearl Crush Trio Eyeshadow (I got Akoyo Pearls)

I have used these eyeshadows and they are great; they are highly pigmented and I also like that you can apply a small amount of water to your brush and the eyeshadow turns into a liner.

Closer – Tight Liner (I got Caviar Black)

This is an amazing eye liners because it’s like a pen. You literally draw on whatever line you want. So easy to use and it’s really long lasting, from morning til night.

The Buzz – Vibralash 24hr Mascara (I got Electric Black)

It’s a vibrating mascara! Pretty awesome huh?? I haven’t tried this out yet because I’m making my way through a few others, including another Mineresse mascara, but I will test it out soon. Mineresse became famous through their Secret Weapon mascara (which we got in our ABBW Luxury Lust Packs), so I’m keen to try this one out as well.

The One – Viva Eternal Gloss (I got Play Bunny)

I love this lip gloss! This shade is amazing, vibrant and not sticky (which is a biggie for me when using lip gloss). The pigment is really great as well so you don’t need to use heaps.

The Fairest – Invisible Fill Make-up (I got Airbrush Line Filling Mattifier)

I really like this product because it’s SPF 10 and has a really great texture. When I used it, it left my skin looking really good and my completion really even.

What I also liked about Mirenesse is that their products are free from talc, alcohol, SLS, parabens, mineral oil, propylene glycol, synthetic dyes, perfumes and they are animal cruelty free. So Mineresse is free from all the nasties. I’ve really started to take more notice of the ingredients in products, and it’s amazing how many of them contain things that aren’t good for you. So it’s great to see brands making “clean” products.

You can purchase Mirenesse products from their website.

Lust Have It – ABBW Luxury Lust Pack

We really did get extra special treatment at the ABBW. Part of said extra special treatment was a special Luxury Lust Pack from Lust Have It.

This is my 3rd Lust Have It pack and I have to say I’m really impressed. I wasn’t sure what the Product
Sample Boxes would be like here in Australia and I’m pleased to announce that they have really lived up to expectations.

We did get spoilt with our ABBW Luxury Lust Packs as they did feature some full size product. Here is the full list of everything in our packs:

Mirenesse Secret Weapon Mascara – Before the Lust Have It packs I hadn’t really heard too much about Mirenesse, but from what I’ve tested they do nice products so I’m really looking forward to testing out this mascara. I also really like that it’s tube mascara, which makes for really easy to remove. No more panda eyes.

OPI Lincoln Park After Dark – This is part of the Touring America collection. It's a really nice dark purple color; it looks almost black in the bottle. I really love OPI nail polishes so I’m really looking forward to testing this out.

Pure Fiji Coconut Milk Shower Gel – We got this is our last Luxury Lust Packs and I really love this shower gel. It smells great and is really hydrating, so I like that fact that we got more of it!

Kerastase Elixir Ultime – We also got this in our last Luxury Lust Packs last month, but I haven’t tested it out yet.

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer – I have heard really good things about this primer so I can’t wait to try it.

Nougat Rejuvenating Hand Polish – I’ve never heard of Nougat before so I’m eager to try this product out plus it smells really good.

Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Mask – I recently found out that apart from my really oily t-zone, I have dry-ish skin so this mask should be really good for me. I also love Dermalogica products so this should be really good.

BIOEFFECT EGF serum – We got this in the 1st Luxury Lust Pack and I have been using it for a few weeks now. I have to say it’s a pretty good serum. My skin has improved since using it and a little bit goes a long way. I’m happy that I got another one.

I love my Muff! – These are feminine refreshing wipes. So the “Muff” really is what you think. Personally I think these are a good idea and I’ll give it a go. Not sure if I’ll blog about it though; it is a bit personal so might not be something I was to post on the Internet!

I think that was a pretty amazing Luxury Lust Pack since it featured a full size mascara and nail polish.

Lust Have It! – August Luxury Lust Pack

So I’m sure you are all aware by now that Lust Have It! Launched (and if you’re not check it out here). And last week we got sent our 1st Luxury Lust Packs! YAY!

I personally was a little excited; in that crazy unhealthy way I get about way too many things. I really do get too excited about things. I sometimes freak myself out…

Anyway digressing…back to the Luxury Lust Pack! I got my lovely little box in the mail on Friday (I was really hoping for Thursday because I was home on Thursday so could have blogged about it then). I have already done a YouTube Blog (1st YouTube post WOOHOO) about it, so if you want to check that out too please feel free J.

And here’s what it looked like…

And here’s what we got…

Dermalogica’s Daily Microfoliant – I have wanted to try this product out for ages, so I was really happy that this came in our box (and I already knew that it was in our box too hehe). I have used it for the past few mornings in the shower and so far LOVE IT!

Bioeffect’s EGF Serum – If you watched my video you will know I was pretty excited about this product. The EGF, or Epidermal Growth Factor, is a Nobel Prize winning ingredient, so you know it’s good! They don’t just give anyone a Noble Prize you know. My Dad has a Noble Peace Prize, no joke, it’s hanging on our wall in the living room. He worked for the IAEA and the whole company got one, but still GO DAD! Back to the EGF Serum, I haven’t tried it yet, but I will ASAP!

Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Crème – This is really good! I have uber-dry hands so I always have heaps of cuticle tears, but I have been using this for the past few days and I’ve already noticed a difference. You can’t go wrong with Burt’s Bees can you?!

Naked Tan’s Goddess Bronze – I’ve head heaps of amazing things about Naked Tan products, but am yet to try any so I was pretty excited that this came in our Luxury Lust Packs. I’m really pale (if you have seen a photo of me you know what I’m talking about), so pale in fact that you can see all my veins. So tanning products and my skin don’t mix very well. However, a friend who is also pale, swears by Naked Tan. So while it’s still jeans weather I’m going to give it a go!

Mirenesse’s Velvet Lip Plumper – I’ve never tried any Mirenesse products before so I was curious about this one. The color that I got (dark nude shade) is really lovely. I’m actually wearing it right now and I have to say I’m a fan. It’s a really nice lip-gloss. I’m not getting much of the plumping effect, but it’s a nice color.

I also got an Armani Sport Code perfume for men, which wasn’t on the card, so I have given that to my boyfriend to try out.

So that was my 1st Luxury Lust Pack and so far I’m really impressed! I can’t wait for the September Pack!
