I love designers. It's no lie. And I like designers, or designer wear even more when they are mine! So when I left my old job (2 weeks ago) I asked for a Shopbop voucher so I could purchase something of the designer variety.
After perusing the website I decided on a bag! Now came the decision of what bag to buy. This decision was pretty easy because I had been lusting after Alexander Wang bags for ages.
I had narrowed it down to two choices. The Rocco and the Marion.
And I ended up going with the Rocco.
Isn't is pretty?? And it looked even better in person when it arrived TODAY!
I took it to work today and I absolutely love it! It's the most amazing bag. A few reviews I read said that it was really heavy. I haven't found that so far. I mean it's not light especially if you have all your stuff in it, but it won't hurt your shoulders or anything.
Is there anything better then an Alexander Wang bag?! I don't think so!

Microdermabrasion
So needless to say I'm obsessed with beauty treatments. I'm especially obsessed with trying out new ones. One that I've been thinking about getting for a while is Microdermabrasion. So when my beauty salon started offering them as a treatment I jumped on the chance to try it out.
I wasn’t really sure what to expect when I went it. I had heard that it was quite a weird experience and it also can feel like your skin is being pulled and scratched off (obviously it’s not).
So the start of my treatment was like any other facial, cleanser, mask, and then the microderm.
I have to say it was a pretty weird feeling. It was a mixture of heavy suction and sandpaper. I didn’t hurt but it wasn’t exactly a soothing experience.
I was afraid that my skin was going to be really red when it finished, but it wasn’t. In fact my skin was pretty clear looking. I did have some red surface marks on my face (which has since gone down. They didn’t even last 24 hours).
I really look forward to seeing when my skin does over the next few days. My beauty therapist told me that some times your skin can keep rejuvenating over the next few days (aka shedding) so not to be alarmed.
Another big thing about mircoderm is you need to wear suncream! Because you are taking off a layer of skin, you need to make sure your skin is protected, as it will be more susceptible to burning.
Have you had microderm done before? Do you love it?

Monday Shoe Porn!
Yep! I went there...Shoe Porn! Nothing to cheer you up on a Monday like a little bit of shoe porn courtesy of Net-A-Porter. These are shoes of all shoes. And if I had a few grand sitting around I would buy a pair of them (since they cost over 1,000 each I'm assuming a few grand wouldn't get me that many of them). Anyway check these babies out…
Mui Mui, Dolce & Gabbana, Mulberry, Louboutin, Choo and Zanotti. Is there anything else you need?!
I know I don't

Product In The Spotlight: Benefit's Cabana Glama
There's nothing I love more then a good make-up palette. It's convenient, easy to carry around, has everything you need and lets you try products before you actually commit to buying a full sized version. And if you read my blog you will know that I love Benefit Cosmetics (especially their X-Mas gift sets).
I also mentioned in my last Benefit post that they do great make-up palette sets. Which is awesome since they just launched another one! Woohoo!
Cabana Glama, as the name implies is all about looking Cabana ready. The palette features hoola bronzing powder (check out my review of that here), some kind-a-gorgeous foundation in medium, posietint cheek and lip stain, eyeshadow palette in peach fuzz, bronze buss and cocoa pizzazz. In true Benefit style it also feature a make-up guide to give you some ideas.
I'm not sure if this product is out in Australia yet (haven't been to a Benefit stockiest/store in a while) but you can buy it from the Benefit Website for $36 USD. Bargain right!

It's not a bag it's a satchel...Indiana Jones has one...
I know what your thinking right now, oh go she has really resorted to a post on the Hangover. Not another one...
Alas no I haven't. But I did buy an amazing Satchel that I feel the need to share with you all! It started a few weeks ago at work on ASOS. Amanda who sits next to me was ordering some stuff and asked if I wanted in. So after having a quick look I discovered that they sell The Cambridge Satchel Company Satchels on ASOS. *enter cheer here*.
With much excitement I have a look at what ones they had and picked...
It's Hash Tag TOTES AMAZE! Amanda liked it so much that she bought one too! So now we have matching Satchels....
Awww how cute!
I have also discovered that I feel that need to say "Satchel" a lot now. It's quite a nifty word. It also makes me quote Alan from the Hangover frequently (so it did turn out to be a Hangover post after all!).
"It's not a purse, it's called a Satchel"
"Indiana Jones wears one"

And one final thought: I've never really thought about Harrison Ford before due to the fact that he's quite old (sorry to anyone who is around that age, but to a 23 year old he's old!), but he wasn't bad looking back in the day. Go figure.

Sh*t Fashion Girls Say…One hell of a laugh
Sometimes a girl just needs a laugh. And a laugh is what I got when I was introduced to some very tongue-in-cheek amusing YouTube videos by The Platform.
Sh*t Fashion Girls Say is pretty much a parody about stuff that girls in the fashion industry or fashion/style enthusiasts say on a regular basis. And I guess that’s part of the humour; the fact that it is based on real stuff girls say…and not to mention it’s being delivered in a very flamboyant way by a big guy with a beard, who is called P'trique (in the videos anyway).
So of my favourite quotes are…
"She said she was wearing Jason Wu. It was Jason Wu for Target."
“She’s my thin-speration”
“People were actually worried about me. I want to be that thin again”
“Hash tag TOTES AMAZE”
"Totes Wang"
“These are curb to cab heels only!”
“I die!”
“What champagne do you have? No, champagne, that’s sparkling wine. Ok I’ll have Prosecco”
“It looked like Forever 21 threw up all over her”
“Should I get bangs? Do you think I should get bangs? How do we feel about bangs? I think I'm going to get bangs…OH MY GOD I HATE MY BAAAAAAAAAAANGS!”
Ok so it turns out I have a few favourite quotes. And might be slightly obsessed with these videos! Let’s hope The Platform make some more.
Also on a scary note I showed these to my mother and she said “haha he sounds like you!”…I don’t know if that’s a good thing or not.

Product Update: Alpha-H’s Liquid Gold Original
Last year as part of the ABBW (Australian Beauty Bloggers Weekend) we were given a Liquid Gold Started Kit by the lovely people at Alpha-H.
To start you off you started with the Prep + Prime and used it until it was finished (they said it should last a month) before you move on to the Liquid Gold original so your skin gets used to the Glycolic Acid.
Well that was back in September/October and it’s now March of the following year and I’m still going on the Prep + Prime. Talk about value for money. So given that they said a month I thought at the beginning of March it should be safe to start using the Liquid Gold original product. I really liked the idea of the Liquid Gold product because you can use it with your current skincare routine; you just use it instead of your skincare regime every second night. So you don’t have to commit to completely changing what you do.
Liquid Gold is a firming and revitalising lotion which boosts your skin’s radiance, helps fight pigmentation, age spots, acne scarring and helps smooth and clear out your skin. The key ingrediates are…
Glycolic Acid (5%) – exfoliate and brighten
Licorice Extract – sooth and brighten your skin and helop reduce dark spots/pigmentation
Silk Proteins - natural amino acid and lipid oils which bind moisture, improve your skins clarity, radiance and texture.
What did I think? I have to say my skin has been pretty good recently thanks to my Rationale essential six night range. But since introducing the Liquid Gold my skin really has an extra glow; my skin is brighter and more radiant. I’ve also noticed that if I get a spot starting to form it is squashed pretty quickly, which is awesome.
I can’t wait to add in the Liquid Gold Radiance, which is the final product in the Liquid Gold starter kit.
You can buy the Liquid Gold kit for $99 on the Alpha-H website.

DIY: Rope Inspired Necklace
So I'm been in a bit of a DIY mood recently and thought I would make myself a colorful rope necklace. I saw a lot of these style necklaces last year and thought "hummm might be fun to try and make that"...
Turns out it was fun to make!
And this is the result.
What do you think? I goes nicely with the DIY bracelets that I made.
You can check out the post for these here.

You might have noticed a change…
Yep there has been a change. Basically last year I started blogging about beauty and fashion/style so I thought I would start up 2 blogs! Seemed like a great idea at the time. WRONG!
I spread myself too thin and I found it difficult to keep up with both. So I have gone backward to having both in one place.
Nothing will really change expect more amazing content (YAY), but the name of my blog has changed! How exciting! It’s now called Life is too short to…(have you noticed the new snazzy masthead?!)
It’s simple and encompasses everything that my blogs were about. I will still have Life is too short to wear sensible shoes up so you can pop over there and look at the posts if you wish.
Hope you like the change!

Sample Boxes - Update
In about July/August last year there was a lot of hype in the Beauty world about Sample Boxes. This concept launched in the US with Birch Box which was a huge success.
The first box to launch here was Lust Have It.
Beauty Box launched next, which turned into Glossy Box. That was all a bit confusing, but as it turned out Beauty Box was Glossy Box all along.
And the last box that lunched (that I signed up for anyway) was BellaBox.
I recently decided to cancel all my subscriptions. This was due to a number of factors.
I wasn't planning on keeping them all when I started. I was going to test run then and make a decision on which one I was going to keep. I didn't think I would end all subscriptions though.
I also found that it was a bit of a hit and miss with some of the boxes. Some months they were pretty good and other months they weren't so crash hot. I think the boxes overseas are so great in the fact that they get full sized NARS, Stila and brands like that. So although we did get some full sized product it wasn't brands like those (which was one of the main reasons why I signed up).
Looking around my bathroom now I just have so many small sample sized products, half of which I'm never going to use, so I thought it was best to cancel my subscriptions and make do with what I have at the moment.
If I was going to go back to one it would either be Lust Have It or BellaBox because I liked their products the best and also felt that they were the best to deal with.

Dannijo goes Foot!
I’m a huge fan of Dannijo! They are amaze balls.
If you don’t know who Dannijo are you should check out their website, but in essence Dannjio are a Sister duo that create amazing, statement, OTT (over the top), high-end jewellery.
Dannijo are teaming up with Matt Bernson to creative a line of foot jewellery, or in normal English...shoes.
How amazing do these look?!
The sad thing is you will have to wait until August to get your hands on these babies. They will be sold on the Dannijo website, the Matt Bernson website and on shopbop and will set you back $240-420.
Man I really love a good pair of shoes!

Diet Coke Anyone?
One of my most favorite stores in the world Colette is know for their innovation and generally awesomeness when it comes to products and what they sell. Although they are known for their fashion and culture, they also have pretty amazing beauty products.
Recently Benefit and Diet Coke and did a little collaboration exclusively.
The "Soyez Glam" collection features 3 exclusively designed cans of Diet Coke as well as 3 Benefit Perfumes, POREfessional, They're Real Mascara, Cha Cha Tint, Benetint and Posie Tint.
You can buy this amazing set from Colette online but it will set you back 200 Euros, so not cheap. I'm seriously considering buying it because it's that amazing.

The Most Amazing Make-Up Application…EVER!
Ever! I know big call right. But this product is so amazing I don’t even care about the price tag, and trust me when I say it ain’t no pharmacy 3.99 foundation brush.
In my last post I showed you the lovely nail polishing stylings of Uslu Airlines. And now I’m going to tell you all about their amazing foundation, well foundation applicator.
Enter the Uslu Airlines Airbrush System!
It looks pretty high-tech and when I first saw it I wasn’t sure if it was for make-up or some strange at home self-administered colonic hydration therapy. But as it turned out it’s to apply liquid make-up.
What does Uslu Airlines say about this little product? Airbrushed Make-up achieves extremely smooth pore-less looking skin and allows for shine thru of very tiny details at the same time. The evenly distribution of a sprayed pigment mist paired with a very sensitive usage of materials enhances the airbrushed face rather than hiding its unique features under a layer (covering it up).
The pigments are distributed over the skin as a mist of thousands of microdroplets. This is why Airbrushed make-up has the power to trick us into believing that there is no make-up at all and we are looking in a natural face. We just see the entire face looks great, but we are unable to determine why.
What do I say? Well I haven’t tried this product yet, but after watching the video and doing some research about the product I really really really want one! (In case one really didn’t get my message across). However there is one tiny set back, the cost. This little baby will set you back over 500 Euro. So that’s quite a bit more in AUD. So it’s really a make-up investment.
I’m going to Europe later this year, so I might see if I can get my hands on one to try whilst I’m over there.
Despite the price it looks pretty damn amazing right?!
