The most expensive Manicure I've ever had

On Tuesday the lovely ladies at ACP magazines took my boss and me to the Park Hyatt for Manicures. It was an amazing spa that we walked into. Lovely, relaxing and everything that you want a day spa to be.

We got to chose our colours and also got told that we got to keep the bottles after. Choosing a colour is always the hardest part. I ended up going with "You Don't Know Jacques!". And then the pampering began! A hour of pure bliss in our own private rooms with headed spa chairs. I'm slightly shamed to say I did fall asleep.

All in all the experience was pretty amazing. I decided to grab a spa book on my way out because it was a lovely spa.

It was when I got home that I realized I just had a $120 dollar manicure. That's right $120....WOW.

But totally worth it.

Brand In The Spotlight: Benefit have done it again!

Needless to say my obsession with Benefit Cosmetics is pretty insane. They do amazing sets, have fabulous holiday ranges plus do amazing collaborations with certain amazing French boutique stores. And they have struck again with some more amazing product combinations.

With the release of Snow White and the Huntsman (looks like a pretty good file), Benefit have released their own make-up set the ear mark the occasion.

In this amazing set you get a full sized Porefessional, full sized Bad Girl mascara, luxury sized Benetint and luxury sized Moonbeam. All for only $45. Pretty good value!

When I was checking it out on the website I also saw this amazing set. Thrrob Blush and Hoola Brozer in one set together. I have Hoola myself and it's a pretty good bronzer

You can get both of these sets from the Benefit website.

So good work Benefit! Keep up the awesome work.

Heavy Metal

It's my Birthday! Well it was yesterday. Part of a birthday is presents. And an excessive amount of cake which I'm pay for now. One of my amazing presents was a gorgeous cuff from Lotus Mendes.

Until Sunday I'd never heard of Lotus Mendes, but then I went to the Bondi Markets and the rest is an amazing 2 day history.

I first saw this amazing collar.

I'd been lusting after a metal collar ever since I set my eyes on this Dannijo one.

So I was over the moon when I found this one.

I also saw this amazing cuff and my lovely Mum went back after I bought my collar to buy it for me for my birthday. YAY!

I really love a bit of heavy metal accessorizing.

A little bit of Fashion Inspiration

So I've loved the whole tough chick look that's been floating around with biker boots, leather pants and jackets and studs. But I especially love when they mange to get pulled off in a chic way.

These are some amazing outfit combos courtesy of Stockholm Streetstyle.

Love these looks. Some definite inspiration there. I really want leather pants. I think I’ve wanted leather pants ever since I saw Sarah Michelle Gellar sport them as Buffy. Might have to keep my eye out when I’m in Europe.

Also note picture 2 and the Alexander Wang bag. I die.

Product Review: Label.M Sea Salt Spray

So recently I've become slightly obsessed with hair products, which is weird because hair really isn't my thing. I've never been good at styling it beyond the usual basic stuff. Maybe that's why I've been starting to play with products that can help me do something a little different without much effort.

Last week I discovered the awesomeness that is Redken styling products. So I thought it might be an idea to try some sea spray. I've had my eye on Bumble and Bumble's Surf Spray and SachaJuan's Ocean Spray for a while but I thought I would try the Label.M one that I had at home first.

I got this Label.M Sea Salt Spray sample some where along the way (not sure where), but found it in my bathroom cupboard the other day.

I've used it for the past 3 days and so far it's really good! I spray it in my hair once I've blown it dry and then give it an extra blast. It gives your hair a really good texture and allows you to mess up your look really easily to give you that undone/bed head look. It also holds throughout the day, which is a big winner in my book.

So all in all I would have to say Sea Salt Spray is a great hair product.

I'm keen to try the Bumble and Bumble one next.

3.1 Yellow

Or 3.1 Phillip Lim. See what I did there.

...Anyway moving right along from my awesome lame sense of humour, 3.1 Phillip Lim has moved right into the 21st century and now does e-commerce from his website! YAY! And for those of you who don't speak e-nerd, it means that you can buy stuff straight off his site! YAY!

I'm totally lusting after the 31 minute bag collection in a really unhealthy way. And by unhealthy I'm referring to my bank account after I spend all my money on bags. Not in a creepy weird way. I don't think anyone wants to go there.

I also have a fondness for the yellow bags in the collection.

Any of these would do really. And by any I mean I want them all...

So should I buy more bags?!

Product Review: Redken Velvet Gelatine 07

My hair is always lacking something. I think it's generally because it's so fine. I always love going to the hair dressers and have them do my hair because it looks full and bouncy.

A friend recommended that I try Velvet Gelatine 07 from Redken to add some extra body to my hair. So I thought I would buy it and give it a go.

Velvet Gelatine is a cushioning blow-dry gel that reinvents blow-dries with body and bounce. Light, airy gel melts into hair for a cushioned finish with natural looking shine.

You apply a medium amount to damp hair and blow-dry. Pretty easy.

What I do think? The texture is quite think so when I first tried it I was expecting it to leave my hair heavy and slightly oily. But it didn't at all. My hair was really lovely after and had some body to it, which was a really nice surprise. My hair also was able to be slightly styled throughout the day (i.e. create the mess look). Although it doesn't do an as good job of keeping the fly-away hairs down unlike the amazing non hair oil oil a bit of hair spray does the job.

All in all I would say it's a pretty great product especially if you have fine hair and are looking for a bit of body and texture.

Product Review: Nutrimetics Lip Apeel

A while I go I hosted a Nutrimetics party and one of the things I bought was the Lip Apeel. The Lip Apeel is a two in one product, a lip exfoliant and a lip conditioner.  Lip exfoliants are great to use when you are going to be wearing lipsticks or something of the sort because it keeps your lips looking smooth and good.

They say that the Lip Apeel step 1 has microcrystalline wax to remove lifeless skin cells and lipstick residue from the lips and sea fern concentrate to firm and plump skin on the lips. Step 2 has Sandalwood extract to soothe and nourish lips.

What do I say?  I think this is a great product. The lip exfolient works really well. But be careful not to over use it because it does take some skin off. It’s great at removing all the dead skin and leaving your lips feeling great. Your lips feel really smooth and soft even before applying the balm after. The Balm is a really beautiful product. Overall I would have to say it’s a winner.

Winner! Winner!

Last week I won a competition. It was really exciting for me because generally I have pretty bad luck when it comes to winner competitions. Fellow beauty blogger Me, My Best and I ran a competition on Twitter and I was randomly chosen as the winner. And this is what I won…

I won Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye Cream and a Peter Alexander Eye Mask!

How cute is this eye mask?! I’ve used it every night since I won it and I love it. I’m also loving the Eye Cream.

The Kiehl’s Eye Cream is a restorative night treatment, infused with Butcher’s Broom Extract as well as a blend of natural oils, visibly reduces puffiness and diminishes the appearance of fine lines. With under-eye skin feeling strengthened and replenished, awaken to younger-looking eyes by morning.

What do I think? I’ve been using the eye cream since I got it and it’s really amazing. I wake up every morning and my eyes look bright and less puffy. The texture of the cream is also really lovely plus it smalls great so it really is an all around winner.

Love a good competition win!

Monday Shoe Porn...Only it's not shoes!

So in keeping with tradition I thought I would stick with my Monday shoe porn post. Only I don't want to show you shoes. So I lied. Sorry about that. But I'm sure you will forgive me the minute you lay your eyes on this amazing new collection from Dannijo!

I'm obsessed with Dannijo jewelry because it's creative, original and just plain fun. And this latest collection delivers to that. The Dannijo girls teamed up with The Man Repeller to come up with the Mr. Dannijo collection and I think it's a winner.

How amazing are these pieces?! I would love to get my hands on one that's for sure.

My birthday is in a few weeks (well 2 now that I think of it :S) so maybe if I hit enough at the Boyfriend he might get the hint. I could just also show him this post and cut to the chase...but what's the fun in that?!

Lazy Sunday: Brunch and Mad Men

On Sunday I had brunch with my friends Sarah and Steve. And then we went back to theirs and watched Episode 1 Season 5 of Man Men. Sarah and Steve have such a great apartment, I got inspired to take some photos.
