Manicure Time!

On Saturday I went to the city to get a manicure. I know you don't have to go to the city to get a manicure, but you do if you want a Uslu Airlines manicure!

For those of you that don't know Uslu Airlines is a German cult beauty brand that have an amazing range of nail polish. They also do other beauty products, like lip stick and lip gloss, but they are famous for their nail polish and airbrush make-up.

So I headed off to People's Salon in Surry Hills for a manicure. The lovely girl their recommended some colours to me and I ended up going with these two colours, Jag and Kno.

And this is what they looked like on.

Really fabulous nail polish! If you fancy getting your own Uslu Airlines manicure pop down to People's Salon or check out the Uslu Airlines website (yep they ship to Australia).

A little bit of luxury

I think most women out there love the idea of owning some designer goods. The generally problem is the little price tag that comes along with it.

However, cosmetics and fragrances are a great way to treat yourself to a little bit of luxury without breaking the bank balance.

Fragrances are my personal preferences for designer brands.

At the moment I have Chance by Chanel, L'Essence by Balenciaga, Daisy by Marc Jocobs, Paris by YSL, Princess by Vera Wang, Flora by Gucci and Infusion D'Iris by Prada

I also find lipsticks are a great choice as well.

Ombre

Tonight I'm going to the hair dressers, which I'm a little bit excited about because I have finally decided to do something a bit different.

A few years ago my hair was always changing slightly. I was always changing the colour slightly and added this or that and then I went red. Don't get me wrong I totally loved my hair red (it wasn't carrot, but more like a strawberry colour), but when I decided to go back to blonde it was hell. It took me about 6 months to a year to get it back. So since then I haven't really done much with the colour. Well until now.

I'm been thinking about doing something different with the colour but didn't know what until I saw the photo on Stockholm Streetstyle.

I really loved this Ombre colour when I saw it so I thought I would be brave and try it out myself. Worst case I hate it and change it next time!

I'll post some photos once I get it done tonight :)

Box Of Roses

I love make-up that looks pretty. I know it doesn't really do anything special if it looks nice, but it's always lovely to have something that looks a bit special.

So when I saw this amazing new Rose Blush from Anna Sui I drooled on my keyboard a little bit.

It’s pink, it’s peach, it’s rosie, it’s to die for!

This lovely little blush comes out in March. I’m not sure where you can buy Anna Sui here in Australia, but you can buy it from Urban Outfitters for $36 (which ships to Australia. YAY).

I think I might buying this for myself in March.

I got even more goodies!

A few weeks ago I got a great little goodie bag from Revlon after taking part in a consumer Q&A session. While we were  there one of the lovely marketing ladies said that she would like to send us more product in the future.

I was guessing she might be in touch in a few months, so you can imagine I was quite shocking when one of the girls who works of Revlon called me earlier this week to say she had a whole bunch of goodies for us at her desk.

The oh so lovely Revlon team sent us...

Matte Suede Nail Enamel - I got Fire Fox

Illuminance Creme Shadow - I got Black Magic. I also got another one with Blues and Oranges but I gave it to a girl at work who loved it.

Colourburst Lip Gloss - I got Bordeaux. I also got a nude colour as well but I give it to the same girl at work who used to own the colour before she lost it.

ColourStay Liquid Eye Pen - I got Blackened Brown/Burn noirci

So a huge thanks to the lovely Revlon Team!

Colour Me Happy!

I’m not afraid of colour. Anyone that knows me knows that I don’t mind rocking a bright shirt or some pattern clashing jacket and jeans. And don’t even get me started on my shoe and handbag collection. But one place I don’t generally add heaps of colour is in my make-up.

When it comes to cheek colour I generally keep it fairly “natural” looking, most of the time I don’t rock a lip colour and if I do it’s generally red or pink and most of my eye shadows are naturals/ earth tones whether it be matte, metallic or dark.

However I do inject some colour in with eyeliners. I find eyeliners are such a great way to jazz up (yep I just said jazz up) a make-up look. I also like that you can get really playful colours and because you only apply them on a small portion of your face they aren’t too over powering.

So my collection consists of…

Mirenesse’s Tight Liner in Sapphire Blue.

Illamasqua’s Fine Pencil in Classic and Uncanny. Illamasqua’s Precision Ink in Alchemy.

Nutrimetics’ ShimmerEyes in Neon andTwilight.

Nars’ Larger Than Life in Bourbon Street.

MAC’s Eye Kohl in Phone Number. MAC’s Tchnakohl Liner in Purple Dash.

Stila’s Smudge Stick in Lionfish.

My favorites are Stila’s Smudge Stick and Nars’ Larger Than Life. They not only have great colours but they also apply really well and last a really long time (I’m talking these babies are still on after a Bikram session). I’m going to Europe later this year so I will defiantly be getting these in a few more colours!

Nutrimetics Haul

So I posted last week that I had a Nutrimetics Party and had a great afternoon with some of my girls.
I also may have done a spot of shopping! Over the years of going to about 50 Nutrimetics parties, I have tried out a lot of their products and I thought I would give a few a bit of a test run. Also Nutrimentcs had a few deals on so I got a few things extra as well (YAY free stuff!).

The first thing I bought was the Ultra Care Peel Crème.

This product works like a normal peel with natural fruit acids and also doesn’t contain any chemicals. I’m always trying to reduce the pores on my nose so hopefully this product helps. I also got a free Ultra Care Complexion Refiner, which is another powder exfoliator product.  I feel a review coming along…

I also got a Ultra Care Lip Apeel which is a lip exfoliator and intense hydration lip cream. I also got a free ultra gloss lip colour with it. I got Nude.

I’ve tried a few of the Nutri-Spa products before, but I hadn’t tired the Relaxing Eye Pillows so I thought I would give them a go.

They are described as a 5-minute spa in a jar with Malachite, grapefruit and cucumber extracts.

Since I’m obsessed with coloured eyeliners I got 2 shimmer eye pencils, one in Neon and Twilight.

I wasn’t going to get anything else but then I saw that the Soul Renewal, which in a mandi kit in a jar, was only $10. So I got that as well.

Also for hosting the party and having people buy things I also got this…

Pretty awesome huh?! It’s the Nutri-Rich rewards pack, which contains the Nutri-Rich Bathing Bar, Nutri-Rich Intensive Lip Treatment, Nutri-Rich Oil, Nutri-Rich Body Crème and the Nutri-Rich Moisturizing Body Satin (which is the most amazing product! Everyone should have it in his or her bathroom).

I really look forward to trying these products out and no doubt will do a post of two reviewing some of them.

Product Head To Head: Hair Oils

I’ve always been reluctant to use anything oily on my hair because I have the unfortunate problem of having really oily hair. I’ve also washed my hair every day since I was in Year 7. A decade on and I just don’t feel clean unless I wash my hair (with the exception of going to the gym, pole or yoga in the morning. No sense washing your hair before exercise). So when everyone started raving about hair oils I pretty much avoided them like the plague. Well that was until my friend introduced me to Davines Finest Oil Non-Oil for Wizards. And it was love at first try!

Once I realised that hair oil wasn’t the devil and really made my hair feel great I thought I should try some more. So I decided to try out L’Oreal Professional’s Mythic Oil as well since I got the full sized product during the ABBW.

I tried each oil for 2 weeks to see how the compared.

Davines Finest Oil Non-Oil for Wizards. This product really had me at the name. How awesome it is?! Davines say this product is for the delicate definition and moisturizing of the styling.

What did I think? Personally I find it does a really great job of making your hair look straight without using my Cloud 9. My hair feels hydrated and the fly-always are kept in check. It also makes my hair feel really silky.

L’Oreal Professional Mythic Oil. L’Oreal says that this product is nourishing to even the finest hair and the formula leaves hair looking shiny, feeling nourished and supple.

What did I think? I really liked this hair oil as well. This oil is heavier then the Davines one, but it also made my hair feel lovely and soft. Again I also found with using this oil I didn’t really need to use my Cloud 9. The only thing I didn’t like was that this product did make my hair a little bit oily by the end of the day.

What product wins the hair oil challenge?! Well I would have to say that the winner for me was Davines Finest Oil Non-Oil for Wizards. And not just because of the name. But the name did help tip the scales in it’s favor.

Both hair oils will set you back about $40, but since a little bit goes a long way the bottles last for ages!
